Terms of Service

By downloading, accessing, or using PharmicoLearn, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and PharmicoLearn Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom.

You must be at least 18 years old and studying or otherwise engaged in pharmacy education to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you are 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. The App asks you to confirm this when you create an account; this is a self-declaration and is not independently verified.

You must create an account to use the App's full features. On first use, you may be given a temporary guest account so you can try the App before registering; registering converts this into a full account, and your progress carries over automatically. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You can delete your account at any time via the App's settings.

PharmicoLearn is an educational simulation, not clinical decision support. It is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The AI-generated content within the App is for educational and informational purposes only and is produced with the assistance of third-party AI systems (see Section 8), which can be incorrect or incomplete. You must always rely on your own professional training, verified medical literature, independent verification, and local guidelines (such as the BNF or NICE guidelines) when making clinical decisions — AI output must never be the sole basis for a professional decision. We accept no liability for any errors or omissions in the AI's responses.

Every patient in the App is fictional. You must not enter a real patient's name, contact details, NHS number, or other information that could identify a real person into any part of the App.

When interacting with the App's AI features, you agree not to submit any content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, spam, or intended to exploit or harm others. You acknowledge that your responses and other content submitted to the App are processed by third-party AI providers (see Section 8) in order to generate scenarios and feedback. We reserve the right to monitor inputs and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or attempt to bypass our safety filters.

The App, including its scenarios, marking rubrics, software, and AI-generated feedback, is owned by PharmicoLearn Ltd or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial, educational purposes. You may not copy, redistribute, scrape, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the App or its content without our prior written consent. You retain ownership of the responses and other content you submit to the App, but grant us a licence to use, process, and store that content in order to provide the App's features and to improve them in aggregate — for example, refining scoring or scenario design based on overall patterns. This licence does not extend to using your individual content to train third-party AI models, and does not override the provider commitments described in our Privacy Policy.

PharmicoLearn offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions unlock additional features and are billed on a recurring basis at the price and interval shown to you in the App at the time of purchase.

Where you purchase an auto-renewing subscription:

• Payment will be charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Your subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price of the renewal term.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID or Google account settings; cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period.
• If we offer a free trial, any unused portion is forfeited once you purchase a paid subscription.
• Prices may change from time to time; we will give you notice of any change before it applies to your next renewal, as required by the App Store or Google Play.
• Payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us or by RevenueCat. RevenueCat is our subscription-management infrastructure — it receives your purchase and entitlement status from Apple/Google so your subscription stays in sync across devices, but does not itself process payment. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Refunds are handled directly by Apple or Google under their own refund policies — we are unable to issue refunds ourselves. If you are a UK consumer, this does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

The App relies on third-party providers to deliver its features, including Google Firebase (accounts and data storage), the Google Gemini API and OpenAI (AI generation and transcription), Apple App Store / Google Play (payment processing), RevenueCat (subscription management, not payment processing), Resend (account and support emails), and PostHog (limited, unlinked product analytics — see our Privacy Policy, Section 5). Your use of the App is also subject to the applicable terms of these providers.

Google receives the text you type during consultations, your recorded voice answers, your live microphone audio during voice consultations, and personalisation data including your first name, year of study, exam date proximity and short quotes from your previous consultations. OpenAI receives only your recorded voice answers, for transcription, and nothing else. We use both on paid commercial terms under which your content is not used to train their models.

Before your first consultation the App shows you a disclosure covering this and asks you to agree. Nothing is sent to these providers until you do, and you can read the disclosure again in the App under Settings → Legal → How AI uses your data. See our Privacy Policy for more detail on how these providers process your data.

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via the App's settings. We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, misused the App, or engaged in fraudulent or abusive behaviour. On termination, your right to use the App ends immediately; Sections 4, 6, 10, and 11 of these Terms survive termination.

These are four separate actions, and taking one does not automatically do the others:

• Withdrawing AI permission (Settings → Legal → How AI uses your data → AI processing) turns off AI-powered features without deleting your account or any saved progress. See our Privacy Policy, Section 6.
• Stopping use of the App simply means you no longer open it — your account and data remain until you delete it or it becomes an eligible dormant guest account.
• Deleting your account permanently removes your account and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy, Section 7. It does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription.
• Cancelling a subscription is done directly in your Apple ID or Google account settings (Section 7 above) and stops future renewals; it does not delete your account or your data.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or complete.

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, PharmicoLearn Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App or reliance on any information provided by the App.

We may update these Terms from time to time, and may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you within the App or by email. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction under applicable consumer protection law.
